Power transmission sector: Used in the manufacture of overhead aluminum alloy stranded conductors for power transmission and distribution (such as ACSR/ACAR conductors) and conductor cores for medium- and high-voltage power cables, covering medium- and low-voltage distribution systems at 10 kV and below, high-voltage transmission systems at 35 kV and above, as well as 1,000 kV ultra-high-voltage transmission projects. These applications are aligned with grid construction initiatives by State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid, and other major grid operators, accounting for 68% of total consumption in this sector in 2023.
Electrical equipment sector: Used in the manufacture of electrical components such as transformer windings, enameled wires, and motor lead wires; suitable for industrial motors, transformers, distribution cabinets, and other electrical equipment, as well as high-voltage wiring harnesses for new-energy vehicles and cable assemblies for charging stations.
New energy sector: transmission lines and associated cables tailored for photovoltaic, wind power, and energy storage systems, as well as internal cabling within new energy power plants, with consumption reaching 280,000 tonnes in 2023 and projected to exceed 450,000 tonnes by 2025.
Special-application sectors: the 5xxx series is used for power transmission and distribution cables in harsh environments such as marine settings, chemical plants, and high-humidity conditions; the heat-resistant series is employed in high-temperature power plants and ultra-high-voltage converter stations, as well as in rail transit, high-rise buildings, and mining operations.
